About Penn Center House

Built in 1959, Penn Center House is located in the lovely Center City West neighborhood of Philadelphia. Operating as a not-for-profit cooperative with 431 member units, Penn Center House is comprised of 20 floors plus a basement and a rooftop terrace. Four apartment types define the living quarters, including 1 and 2 bedroom units, and studio/efficiency units. Each member enjoys all of the benefits of living in Center City Philadelphia at an incredibly low monthly rate which includes all standard utilities, cable, library, taxes, building mortgage, and routine labor maintenance (available 24/7). Amenities include a fitness center, library, leisure lounge, rooftop terrace, hospitality suite, on-site garage parking, storage lockers and bicycle storage. Movie nights, book clubs, seasonal events and other activities are continually planned and scheduled by a social committee.

Members decide the future of Penn Center House through an elected Board of Directors and meetings with the Resident House Council. As members are elected and appointed to the Board and the many committees that have been set up, Rules and Regulations which govern the quality of life at Penn Center House are shaped and finalized.
